David Borgeaud and Erika Meda founded Roue Libre in 2014, just after finishing cinema studies, aiming to collaborate and grow up with directors of their generation. Without any restriction of genre or form, they accompany fictional, documentary and hybrid film projects. They naturally began by producing short films, as for exemple Kapitalistis (2017) by Pablo Muñoz Gomez, that won an award at Locarno Film Festival and was nominated for the Magritte, César and European Film Awards.

In 2021, the first feature film of Roue Libre, Mother Schmuckers by Lenny and Harpo Guit, is selected for its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Midnight section.

Although Erika Meda continues to artistically follow certain projects, the company is now mainly handled by David Borgeaud, who is also active in the International Francophone Film Festival in Namur. He has been in charge of the professional section since 2018 and a member of the programming committee since 2019. David is also an alumnus of the Rotterdam Lab, as well as a member of the Belgian French-speaking Film Fund since 2020.
